About this trip
Japan’s Golden Route is the ideal first journey through the country. A 7-day Japan Rail Pass links every stop, and a local guide joins you for the key sightseeing days so you can enjoy the rest at your own pace.

Meet your assistant at Narita or Haneda and take the airport limousine bus to your Shinjuku hotel. Evening walk through Omoide Yokocho’s lantern-lit alleys.

Activate your Japan Rail Pass and travel to Hakone. Lake Ashi cruise, Hakone Ropeway over Owakudani and an overnight stay in a ryokan with kaiseki dinner.

Ride the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Afternoon walk through Gion and the Yasaka Pagoda lanes at dusk.

Centrally located 4-star hotels near major stations; one night in a traditional ryokan with tatami rooms and onsen.
Japan Rail Pass for Shinkansen and JR lines, IC card top-up for metro, airport limousine bus and Haruka express.
Breakfast daily, sushi lunch on day 3, kaiseki dinner in Hakone and street-food dinner in Osaka.
Luggage forwarding (takkyubin) is arranged from Tokyo to Kyoto so you travel light to Hakone with an overnight bag.
Prices are per person on a twin-sharing basis and are subject to availability at the time of booking. Rates may change due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges or government taxes until the booking is fully paid.
Airline tickets, visa fees and non-refundable hotel promotions follow the supplier’s own cancellation rules.
Questions
Typically the last week of March to the first week of April in Tokyo and Kyoto. Rates are higher in this window, so book 4–6 months ahead.
Expect 12,000–18,000 steps on guided days. Japanese public transport is excellent, and taxis can be added on request.
It needs a little planning. We share a list of vegetarian-friendly restaurants and inform the ryokan in advance.
Usually 5–7 working days. We assist with the documents after booking.
