5 Days in Bali
A five-day Bali itinerary: Ubud rice terraces, Lake Bratan, Nusa Penida’s cliffs, Diamond Beach and sunset at Tanah Lot.
5 Days in Bali
Temples, rice terraces, cliffs and sunsets — a relaxed itinerary for first-time visitors.
Day 1 · Ubud
Walk the Tegallalang rice terraces early, before the crowds, then spend the afternoon at the Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud Art Market.
Day 2 · Lake Bratan
Drive into the cool highlands to Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, the temple that seems to float on the lake. Stop at Jatiluwih on the way back.
Day 3 · Nusa Penida
Take the morning fast boat from Sanur to see Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong. Wear proper shoes for the cliff paths.
Day 4 · Diamond Beach
Stay on the island’s east coast for Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach — carved staircases, white sand and turquoise water.
Day 5 · Tanah Lot
End your trip with sunset at Tanah Lot, the sea temple on its rocky outcrop, followed by dinner in Canggu or Seminyak.
Good to know
Best time to visit: April–October (dry season). Carry a sarong for temple visits, keep small rupiah notes for entry fees, and book the Nusa Penida boat a day ahead.
